HD iPad could be the name of the new iPad
Posted: March 10th, 2012 | Author: hideen | Filed under: Technology | Tags: Apple, HD, iPadiPad HD now seems to be the name that sounds harder to name the new Apple tablet. But also remember that as performed previously iPad iPhone names iPad 2S and 3 are not discarded. I have no very clear what I would choose but give different reasons why they might be called one way or another.
But first let’s briefly review the nomenclature used by Apple. During its history Apple has used different nomenclatures to call their products. For example the first Macintosh were distinguished by their memory and Macintosh 128k Macintosh 512k. After generation of IBM processors were distinguished by processor used: Power Macintosh G3, PowerBook G3 and G4, iBook G3 and G4, iMac G3, G4 and G5 iMac … Later MacBook and MacBook Pro did not inherit according to the tagline the generation of the processor and all kept the same name differentiated by the release date (mid-2009, late 2010, …) And finally IOS devices where we had the iPhone 3G was the second but used by the 3G ability to connect to 3G networks, then the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and 4S (these are not compatible with 4G networks).
iPad 2S, significantly improved
iPad 2S is a safe bet for some users. The new iPhone will use an enhanced version of the current A5 processor, named A5X is no reason to be considered iPad 3. It would be like the iPhone 4S, an update that improves hardware level but that by keeping design prevents regard it as something new. Feeling that we produce when called iPad 3. And remember that with every leap Apple has redesigned their products. Which will not now.
iPad 3, inclusion of the new processor A6
For others, need not be redesigned to be considered iPad 3. A substantial improvement of the processor, the new A6 quad core would be more than enough with the arrival of Siri to deserve that name. And they are right but also adds the most to secure inclusion of Retina screen display.
Therefore, to move with fluidity improving the resolution of hardware is essential so that despite the almost identical design aesthetic would be talking about a “new tablet”. The downside is that a numerical change could create a feeling of disappointment to those who expect something new beyond internal improvements.
